June 18, 2009: Angels in America cast announced
Company member Alexander Strain is among the prestigious DC actors cast in Forum Theatre’s revival of the Tony Award–winning Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes. In addition to Strain, who plays Louis, the ensemble features Helen Hayes Award–winners Jennifer Mendenhall as Hannah and Nanna Ingvarsson as The Angel, along with Helen Hayes nominees Karl Miller as Prior and Jim Jorgensen as Roy Cohn. Casie Platt as Harper, Daniel Eichner as Joe, and Ro Boddie as Belize round out the cast.
 

June 11, 2009: Forum praised on Kojo Nnamdi
Today's broadcast of "The Kojo Nnamdi Show" on WAMU discussed the local theater scene and the productions Washington Post critics Peter Marks and Nelson Pressley are looking forward to. March 6, 2009: Forum will be company in residence at Round House Silver Spring
Round House Theatre recently announced that Forum Theatre will be company in residence at Round House Silver Spring for the next two seasons. Forum will produce three productions each season at the 150-seat black box space, starting with both parts of Tony Kushner’s epic masterpiece Angels in America in October and November 2009.

February 10, 2009: Forum receives its first-ever Helen Hayes Award nomination

Forum is thrilled to be among the 2009 Helen Hayes Awards nominations announced last night at the National Theatre's Helen Hayes Gallery.  The Last Days of Judas Iscariot is nominated for the Canadian Embassy Award for Outstanding Ensemble, Resident Play. Read the list of nominees here.

January 23, 2009: Forum's blog generates an OpenForum event at Woolly Mammoth
Forum's blog discussion of How Theatre Failed America at Woolly Mammoth generated a LOT of interest. As a result, Forum and Woolly are hosting an OpenForum event on Monday January 26 at 7:00 in the Woolly Mammoth Theatre lobby.

December 31, 2008: Judas Iscariot is among 2008's best
Forum's production  of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot made the Washington Post's and the Washington City Paper's Best of 2008 lists! A marvelous compliment for us, and a great ending to a great year.

December 15, 2008: Forum to present
Angels in America in fall 2009

At last night's benefit performance of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, Artistic Director Michael Dove and company member Alexander Strain announced that the company is aiming even higher in 2009–10. Next fall, Forum will produce Tony Kushner's epic drama, Angels in America. The two parts—Millennium Approaches and Perestroika—will run in repertory at the H Street Playhouse. Michael Dove and Jeremy Skidmore will direct.
